Oregon Action’s December 3rd “ Carry It On” Celebration in Talent was a huge success. Over a hundred plus attended the event at the Talent Community Center to celebrate a year of Oregon Action organizing successes, look forward to the huge challenges in the coming year and most importantly honor our 2011 Community Organizing Champions. With the spirited music of David Pinsky and Gary Halliburton’s Rhythm Kings leading our theme song Carry It On Oregon Action supporters were joyous and generous. Oregon Action gave our awards to a quartet of outstanding social justice champions:
State Representative Peter Bucklely
Steve Neuberger, Health Care for America Now and Stand for Children
Treasa Cordero Runzi, Oregon Action
Medford Congregational United Church of Christ.

Many people competed for the highlight of the afternoon: Peter Buckley’s speech on the future of our movement, the standing ovation for the Occupy Medford folks who came following their general assembly or maybe the networking of so many social justice supporters in southern Oregon.
In all Oregon Action met our goals for fundraising from the outpouring of donations from very supporters, and we more the doubled the attendance from last year. And we want to thank all the volunteers, planners and social change leaders who made our 3rd annual awards a success.
