Rogue Valley Unites to Oppose Citizens United decision
On January 20 over eighty Rogue Valley residents gathered at Vogel Plaza in Medford to show their united opposition to the Citizens United Supreme Court’s decision that makes corporate money equivelent to free speech. They marched through the rain to the Justice Building in Medford. Since that decision huge amounts of corporate money have flowed to ” Super Pacs” that are distorting and destroying our concept of democracy.
Calling for a new constitutional ammendment speakers asked for a new and bigger coalition to join in the national movement that is needed to insure fair democratic elections free from corporations domination. The action was jointly sponsored by Occupy Ashland, Occupy Medford and Oregon Action.
